Arsenic was found in the waters of West Bengal in the 1980s.    The group under Dr Dipenkar Chakriborti of Kolkata has done most of the investigations.

Recently high levels of arsenic (1 milligram per m3 ) have been found in the Bihar province.  An article has been submitted for publication and will be posted as soon as received.
