| Fe2O3-CeO2/γ-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by the impregnating-calcining method and has been characterized by BET, X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), respectively. The catalytic wet oxidation with H2O2 of azo dyes was evaluated by using Fe2O3-CeO2/γ-Al2O3 catalyst under the condition of normal temperature and atmospheric pressure. The experimental results showed that azo dyes can be effectively mineralized and the catalytic activity of Fe2O3-CeO2/γ-Al2O3 catalyst is increased about 10% compared with that of Fe2O3/γ-Al2O3 catalyst. It is suggested that the higher catalytic activity of Fe2O3-CeO2/γ-Al2O3 is related to the modification of the structural and redox properties of the ferric oxide by adding ceria. |
